Your Location
This position is only open to candidates based in Cameroon. It is subject to project approval and has an expected start date at the beginning of Q4.
Your role 
We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices and published in the Play Store apps dedicated to patients and health centers. 
Your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. 
You will be working alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.
Responsibilities

• Design and develop native mobile applications for Android
• Assist in the scoping, estimating, and planning of projects
• Integrate mobile apps with RESTful web services
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Collaborate with Dev Team members using Jira, Bitbucket, and Microsoft Teams
• Coach and mentor team members on software engineering activities
• Collaborate with your team and our internal guilds to continuously improve our CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure
• Be a technical steward within your team and across the Product Engineering organization
• Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team to iterate and deliver on new product increments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• +5 years developing experience in Android 
• Knowledge of Kotlin
• Expert-level knowledge of Android the platform & SDK, service-oriented architectures, domain-driven design, test-driven development, networking, and security
• Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Solid understanding of the full Android development life cycle
• English speaker. French is a plus
• Comfortable traveling 25% of the time
• A permanent internet connection (Savics will support your monthly fees)
