Your Location

• The Network System Administrator positions are open to candidates based in Senegal (one person), Cameroon (one person), and Africa (one person). These three positions are subject to project approval and have an expected start date at the beginning of Q4.

Your role 

• We are looking for experienced Network Systems Administrators to ensure the stability and integrity of our systems. 
• The Network Systems Administrator will be responsible for the installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software. You will work remotely with possible travel to manage installations of our solutions across Africa. Therefore, commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

Responsibilities

• Install and integrate server hardware and applications 
• Manage network servers; configure, maintain and monitor servers
• Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords, and workstations
• Maintain internet applications and protocols IP, TCP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSL
• Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls
• Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum performance
• Assist in the design and selection of technologies and design of system architecture 
• Installation and configuration of process management PM2
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
• Support installation, training of end-users, troubleshooting, and system maintenance across various countries 
• Draft technical documentation, user manuals, IT policies, and procedure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field 
• Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification. Other related licenses or certification is a plus
• Relevant experience in the health sector 
• Experience in Microsoft server operations, network design and implementation, system troubleshooting, and hardware configuration is a plus
• Experience in  Linux server administration, scripting; PowerShell, Bash 
• Familiarity with VPS, Load Balancing and VPN
• Experience in managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Microsoft HyperV/Virtual Server etc.
• Experience with database technologies; MongoDB, SQL Server, MySQL
• Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technology, Internet connectivity, and TCP/IP
• Experience in web server: Apache Tomcat, Apache2, NGINX, and IIS.
• Proficient use of Firewalls, routers, and switches
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously 
• Familiar with Agile methodologies
• Experience in installation and troubleshooting Rabbitmq
• Fluent in English. French is a plus 
• Stay on the leading edge of development practices
• Comfortable traveling 25% of the time
• A permanent internet connection (Savics will support the monthly fees)
