About the Role:
Cameroon Mining Company is currently seeking a highly skilled and field-ready Geologist to support its ongoing iron ore exploration activities in Central Africa. This is a short-term 2-month contract ideal for professionals with a strong background in iron ore geology, quality control/assurance (QA/QC), and field operations.
Duration:
- Contract Length: 2 months
- Start Date: Immediate or as soon as possible
Missions / Responsabilités / Activités
- Conduct geological fieldwork and supervise iron ore exploration programs.
- Oversee and implement QA/QC protocols for sampling, drilling, and lab assays.
- Supervise core logging, sample preparation, and dispatch for analysis.
- Support drilling campaigns (RC/DD) and ensure alignment with exploration targets.
- Interpret and record geological data in accordance with industry standards.
- Assist with geotechnical measurements, density testing, and sample integrity validation.
- Maintain accurate geological databases and prepare technical field reports.
- Collaborate with field teams, drilling contractors, and geological technicians.
- Ensure all operations comply with HSE guidelines and site regulations.
Compétences / Exigences / Qualités
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in iron ore exploration.
- Proven knowledge and application of QA/QC standards in exploration projects.
- Experience in RC and Diamond Drilling operations.
- Familiarity with geological software (e.g., Micromine, Surpac, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Physically fit and willing to work in remote, field-based environments.
- Fluency in English (bilingual is a plus).
